Review GLOBAL CIDER FORUM 2019
The 3rd Global Cider Forum took place on the 10th of October 2019 in Frankfurt am Main at the Frankfurt School of Finance. The Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, one of the leading business schools in Germany, offered an excellent infrastructure for a successful event on its new campus.
The network dinner on the eve of the Forum took place in the Fleming's Selection Hotel Frankfurt-City.
Frankfurt am Main, with its international airport, the ICE train station and the autobahn network not only provided the ideal transportation infrastructure but has always been a stronghold of cider culture as well.

BACKGROUND
Cidre in France, Cider in England and the United States, Sidra in Spain – the fermented drink made from apples is known all over the world. The cider market is one of the fastest growing beverage markets, particularly in Eastern Europe, the US, Australia and South Africa. The producers brought their traditional products into our modern times with new packaging and clever marketing concepts and they can now expect that demand will continue to increase.
One distinctive characteristic of the industry is the structure of its businesses. Sizes range from small to medium-sized cider producers up to the global players of the beverage industry such as Heineken or Carlsberg which made cider one of their key products.
In Europe, cider and fruit wine businesses are represented by the European Cider and Fruit Wine Association – AICV, either as direct members or through national associations.
The Global Cider Forum is an initiative from AICV, the European Cider and Fruitwine Organisation.
